How to embed a SharePoint document library

How to insert & remove SharePoint document libraries

Use these instructions to insert a document library from your SharePoint sites on a page of your ThoughtFarmer intranet. It takes just a few clicks to insert a document library, which allows you to easily access, edit, and add to documents stored in your company's SharePoint sites.

If your intranet administrator has connected the intranet to SharePoint sites you can embed any document library from those sites on an intranet page. If you don't see the options and buttons listed below, contact your site administrator.

Edit page to insert SharePoint library

  • Step 1: Create a new page or click "Edit" to open a page for editing.
  • 5.5+User+6001+Insert+SharePoint+button.pngStep 2: Set the cursor in the content box and then click the "Insert SharePoint Document Library" button in the content toolbar to bring up the pop-up box.
  • Step 3: Select a SharePoint site from the dropdown list.
  • Step 4: Click once on the name of a listed document library and then click the "Insert SharePoint Document Library" button. The library will appear on the page.
  • Step 5: Continue editing or click "Save" at the top of the page.
  • Note: When you insert a document library in edit mode, you will only see part of the library in the Content box. The system crops the view of the library to keep it compact while you are in edit mode.
If you experience an error message after adding a SharePoint library, ask your intranet administrator to check if the Rich Text Editor filter ScrubHtml is disabled.

Remove SharePoint library in page edit mode

  • Step 1: Navigate to the page with the library you wish to remove and click "Edit" to go into edit mode.
  • Step 2: Click once on the document library and then hit "Delete" on your keyboard. The document library will disappear.
  • Step 3: Continue editing or click "Save" at the top of the page.
