Overview of news features

News on group pages feeds into homepage

Sharing news is an important aspect of using your ThoughtFarmer intranet. Your intranet homepage and group pages have special features for displaying and posting news. Included in the homepage news feed are both news stories targeted at all employees, and personalized news stories just for you. The personalized stories are fed by group pages of which you are a member.

Above each homepage news post title you'll see the source listed - that's the news section where the post was added. You'll also see listed the group page through which that post came. Example: ThoughtFarmer Blog via Vancouver Office.

To see group news on the homepage, you need to first add center column content subscriptions/news feeds on a group page. (See complete instructions on how to set up group news feeds.)

Blogs, forums and news sections are all similar and can be considered as "news" sections in the context of this page.

Click "Add post" on homepage to add news

To add a new post to a group blog, forum or news section that feeds into your homepage, follow these steps:
  • Step 1: Click "Add post" near top center of page. This will open a list of news sections that feed into your homepage.

Select which of your groups will feed into your homepage

Use these instructions to select which of your groups you want to feed into your homepage news. By default all of your groups with content subscriptions in the center column will feed into your homepage.
  • Step 1: Click "Showing # of # groups" just above the homepage news section on the right. This will open up a list of your groups that feed news into the homepage.
