How to use status updates

Status updates create work activity stream

On your ThoughtFarmer intranet, status updates let you make short posts (140 characters long) about what you're working on. Colleagues can learn about your current projects at a glance and potentially discover important bits of information. Taken as a whole, status updates on the intranet create a company pulse, showing a stream of what's happening throughout the organization at any moment in time.

Many people post notes about current projects. Examples: "Just finished release notes for the newest software version." Or "Working on report about social intranets and staff retention."

Some people use status updates to note out-of-office dates. Examples: "In Austin giving intranet trainings this week." Or "In Turks & Caicos celebrating my wedding anniversary, October 3-10."
