How to change the page owner for a page

Use these instructions to change the person listed as the owner of a specific page. Every page and file on your intranet is attributed to someone, usually the person who created the page or uploaded the file. But you can easily change the page owner. However, only the page owner or a person with edit permission on the page can change the page owner.

Change the page owner

  • Step 1: Make sure you have edit permission on the page.
  • Step 2: Click "change..." next to the picture and listing for "Owned by" in the right-hand side page information portlet.

  • Step 3: In the "Select person" box start typing the name of the new page owner to bring up a list of matching names.

  • Step 4: Click once on the listing for the new page owner and then click "OK."

Change the page owner in edit mode

  • Step 1: Click "Edit" to go into edit mode on the page you want to change.
  • Step 2: Click the name of the current page owner beside "Page owner" in the Settings section on the right. The settings dialog will open.

  • Step 3: In the "Page owner" box at the top, start typing the name of the new page owner to bring up a list of matching names.

  • Step 4: Click once on the listing for the new page owner and click "Done" in the bottom right of the dialog.
  • Step 5: Continue editing the page or click "Save" in the top right.

Ask site administrator for help to change owner for large number of pages

If you need to change the page owner for a large number of pages, ask your intranet administrator for help. List all the pages you'd like changed and list the new page owner. The administrator can make bulk changes through the intranet administration panel.
