How to add a comment to a file

Adding a comment on a file is similar to adding a comment on a photo gallery image - the easiest way to do it is in "preview" mode. (Learn about file preview.) Depending on whether the attached files are in large file view or compact file view (small-text links), you can add a comment in one of three ways:

  1. (large file view) Click "Add comment" below the file title (or if there are already comments, click on "# comments"), which opens the file preview window containing an open comment box.
  2. (large file or compact file view) Click the file title, which opens the file preview window containing an open comment box.
  3. (large file or compact file view) Click the down arrow on the far right of the file title, and click "View file page". Once on the file page, click "Add comment" below the file.
When multiple file versions have been uploaded to the intranet, it will say above each comment what version that comment was made on. That way you can keep track of when comments were made in the stream of updates. (Learn about how to replace a file with a new version.)
