How to add a content subscription to your profile page

Receive updated subscription content on your profile

When you add a content subscription to your profile page, updated content from the subscription source automatically appears on your profile. This could be content from any news, blog, forum, or calendar page on the intranet, or from external websites. It's like a magazine subscription - once you sign up, you automatically receive the newest magazine when it is published.

Any visitor to your profile page will be able to view content subscriptions that you add to your page.

Add a content subscription to your profile page

  • Step 1: Go into edit mode on your profile page.
  • Step 2: Select the "Content Subscriptions" tab on the left. On profile pages, you can only add subscriptions to the left column.

  • Step 3a: For internal content feeds: In the text box under "Enter an external RSS..." start typing the name of a news, blog, forum or calendar section on your intranet. In the list of matching sections that appears click once on the name of the section you want.
  • Step 3b: For external content feeds: Copy the feed RSS URL from the external website, paste it in the text box under "Enter an external RSS...", and click "Add".
  • Step 4: Under the "Order" heading, select either the option to have "Items grouped by subscription" or to "Merge subscriptions to show newest item on top".
    • If you select "Items grouped by subscription" posts will show up chronologically within grouped sections.
    • If you select "Merge subscriptions to show newest item on top," all posts will show chronologically by post date.
  • Step 5a: If you selected "Items grouped by subscription", next select the number of posts from each news or blog section to display in the group page news feed.
  • Step 5b: If you selected "Merge subscriptions to show newest item on top," next select from the dropdown list the total number of posts to display in the group page news feed.
  • Step 6: (Left column subscriptions only) If you would like to keep the news content items shorter on the page, click the checkbox under "Display titles only" for each subscription you have added.
  • Step 7: Click Save changes on the right.
