Manage tags

Manage tags to refine searches

Any ThoughtFarmer administrator can organize tags and tag bundles. The Tagging page in the Administration panel allows you to add/delete tags and bundles and to organize all tags into bundles. It also provides you with usage counts for existing tags on pages and on ThoughtFarmer profile custom fields.

See Manage tag bundles for more information about tag bundles.

Manage tags

There are a few ways to create tags. You can add them immediately to a specific tag bundle or you can add them to the generic list of all tags. With tag creation enabled, all users can add new tags to pages at any time. These will all be grouped in "Unbundled tags".

Create tags by adding them to a specific bundle

  1. Go to the ThoughtFarmer Administration panel: Content section > Tagging page.
  2. In the Tag bundles section find the desired tag bundle. Click the gear icon in the Action column on the right, and select Change tags in this bundle from the menu that opens.

  3. On the tag bundle screen, begin typing a tag in the text box at the top of the list. Existing tags will be displayed in a dropdown menu as you type. New tags can be created by completing the tag name and clicking Add.

Manage tag to tag bundle associations

Tags can be associated with multiple bundles. If a tag is not associated with any tag bundle it is categorized under "Unbundled tags". Tags can also be associated with custom profile fields and the expertise locator. Only regular tag bundles are discussed here. Please see Tags and the expertise locator for custom profile field tags.
